What:  Gain insight into how and why iPads can be used to enhance learning in our first TeachMeet event

When: Thursday, March 15th

Time: 7:00 PM

Where: Education Development Centre, Hindmarh

This free iPads and Learning event precedes our Annual General Meeting and boasts educational consultant, Anita L’Enfant, from Perth and our first TeachMeet session with local educators sharing their experiences with the use of iPads in special education, languages, primary and secondary schools. TeachMeet is a new format of professional sharing gaining rapid popularity around Australia that is an organised but informal meeting in the style of an unconference. It promises to be engaging, informative and fun. We hope you can come along to support this event and perhaps share your iPad experience.

At the AGM, we are seeking enthusiastic educators who would be willing to help us expand our professional development program. If you have expertise in mobile learning and/or facilitation of online professional development, we would love to hear from you. In particular, we are seeking to appoint committee members to raise our level of support for technicians and school leaders

Personalising Learning with iPads

Technology doesn’t change learning – it is the teacher who does that! It is the teacher who designs learning experiences to meet the needs of the individual learner,  and technology can be a means by which this can be made easier. Learn how teachers from all over the country are using technology tools on an iPad to facilitate good learning principles such as engaging higher order thinking skills, multiple intelligences and collaboration, providing a learning environment that is engaging and meets individual learning needs.
