Tony Bryant, Principal of Silverton Primary School
Tony Bryant has been involved in education for over 42 years and principal of Silverton Primary School for the past 19 years. Working in a low-socio economic, highly multi-cultural area of Melbourne, Australia he has led a school that has been recognised worldwide as an innovative and progressive school. Silverton Primary School has been a Microsoft Worldwide Mentor schools in their World Wide Innovative School Program since 2009 and a CISCO Ingenious School since 2010. Silverton Primary School was awarded the Victorian Education Excellence Award for Curriculum Innovation in 2010 and awarded the Science and Mathematics award in 2011. Tony was awarded The Victorian Education Excellence award for Most Outstanding Leadership in 2011. He has led a school that has a high focus on personalised learning, authentic curriculum and powerful use of ICT to drive student improvement in a contemporary learning environment. Having developed a school and pedagogy to showcase learning in flexible learning areas he, his teachers and his school are highly sought after for advice and assistance in changing the school to address the needs of 21st century learners.
Over the past few years he has travelled to America, Brazil, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, New Zealand, England, France, Italy, South Africa, Thailand and Singapore looking at various schools and school systems. He has also presented at many forums and Master Classes as a keynote speaker and conductor workshops.
