Presentation: The New Matrix for Education
Students in higher education often have significant skills in using some technologies. These skills may have developed through primarily for social use, but may also have been developed by some foundation in schooling. The future success of educators will require teachers to step into the digital environment’s, pass through ‘The New Matrix’ of our learners and in doing so opens up new possibilities for educational engagement and assessment.Through the digitization of curriculum, access to technology and the willingness to engage in new pedagogical practices, the new educational matrix becomes an open, transparent, collaborative classroom. The cooperative management of these environments by students, educators and educational bodies will tap into the digital possibilities beyond the current classroom and thinking. Taking current learning artifacts and creating a presence within digital communities of our students will enable them to be authentic digital citizens and learners.

About Leon Marsden
