  • Create innovative solutions for challenges facing today’s scientists as part of their research project
  • Apply real-world mathematics and science concepts
  • Develop employment and life skills including critical thinking, time management, collaboration, and communication while becoming more self-confident
  • Engage in team activities
  • Become involved in their local and global community
  • Use their skills to participate in an exciting tournament

FLL is an internationally coordinated activity that offers students

  • Discovery of the fun in science and technology
  • Real-world application of science and mathematics concepts
  • Hands-on problem solving
  • Programming experience
  • Research presentation project
  • Adult role models
  • Team activities guided by FLL Core Values

CEGSA is cooperating with BAE Systems for the operation of FLL in South Australia. The aims and operation of FLL is described in the following brochure.  FLL2011_Brochure

The local FLL tournament will be held on Sunday 13 November 2011.

A training workshop for FLL coaches and mentors was held on  Friday 12 August 2011. It was attended by teachers from several schools and industry mentors from BAE Systems and SAGE.  Luan Heimlich, the Operational Partner for FLL in Australia, conducted the training workshop.  Workshop attendees gained information about FLL, an understanding of the role of coaches and mentors and experience in programming LEGO robots.  Luan’s presentation is available.  FLL Workshop Presentation
